This trade book, Romance the Architecture with Word Marketing: How to Empower Real Estate Advertising Through the Proper Choice of Words is used in real estate training programs and is a book I ghostwrote and edited. The original version of Word Marketing was self-published by the author in the 1990s, was not very user friendly. Designed in the landscape aspect ratio, it was printed on card stock pages and spiral bound on the short side. All of the text portions of the handbook were in the front half of the book with the line-art illustrations at the back. For the fully revised second edition, I restructured it completely, organizing the graphics to go with the corresponding text, added more descriptions, a table of contents, an index, and an “ad starters” section. Several years later, after selling through about 3,000 copies, wanted to upgrade it further. We added additional illustrations and content including a series of articles about writing ads and other “Success Tips” for realtors, added a “Power Word Finder,” and a glossary of advertising descriptive terms. The third edition of the book (sample pages shown below) continues to be sold to real estate associations and brokers.
